The Canadian Ski Patrol System (CSPS) is the premier safety and first aid organization serving outdoor sports and recreation in Canada. Gatineau Zone is the third largest zone in Canada, with approximately 400 patrollers who serve our 10 local ski areas. Our mission is to promote safety and injury prevention and to provide to the highest possible standards of education, certification and delivery of first aid and rescue services.
The Canadian Ski Patrol was founded in 1940 and now has over 5,500 volunteer members throughout Canada. It actively patrols 225 ski stations from coast to coast.
Activities of the organization’s 63 zone presidents and 9 division presidents are coordinated by the National Board of Directors which constitutes the management committee responsible for administering this Ottawa-based organization. The C.S.P.S. is known for the quality and professionalism of its members.
The C.S.P.S. trains patrollers in downhill and Nordic skiing as well as on snowboards and in telemarking. Services to members include, among others, high-level first aid training, insurance for volunteer patrollers, uniforms and training manuals.
